Lung Cancer Awareness Month

There are 2 types of Lung Cancer;

Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)

Small cell lung cancer (SCLC)

Symptoms;

  • A cough for 3 weeks or more
  • A change in cough you have had for a long time
  • A chest infection that does not get better
  • Cough up blood
  • Fatigue
  • Chest or shoulder problem
  • A hoarse voice

Having 1 or more of the above does not mean that you have lung cancer. However, it is always best to get checked by a clinical professional at your GP Surgery.

Lung Cancer Screening

The NHS are beginning lung cancer health checks to diagnose people at risk of lung cancer at the earliest stage possible. This will be offered for people over 55 years old who smoke or who is an ex smoker.
