#ACTnow – Action Changes Things
There is no single definition for Stress. But, the most common symptoms affect individuals mentally, physically or impact your mental state.
Stress and poor mental health is public health’s biggest challenge they are facing. Stress can lead to numerous other health problems – heart disease, insomnia, digestive issues and serious mental health issues such as anxiety & depression.
Stress awareness month has been held every April since 1992. It encourages the opportunity for individuals to open up and discuss any problems and challenges they may be facing whilst aiming to remove the stigma around mental health. It enables people to be open minded and discuss coping mechanisms they feel have helped them, which will hopefully help others. It is about ensuring your find time for yourself, taking care of yourself and finding yourself again whilst ‘offloading’ and understanding yourself and others.
