BGS is an undergraduate teaching practice and has been for over 20 years. We currently host medical students from Keele University Medical School. Medical students will often sit in a consultation to observe. You will be informed on your arrival if medical students are present. There is absolutely no obligation for you to see the GP with the students present. If you wish to see the GP alone, please inform reception on your arrival.
BGS is a postgraduate training practice for The West Midlands Deanery. We undertake training of qualified doctors, who are undertaking training to become GPs. You may be offered an appointment with such a doctor as he or she nears the end of their training.
BGS trains other health professionals too, including clinical pharmacists and practice nurses. You will always be informed if anyone in training is going to be present at your consultation. If you wish to see the health professional alone, please just let us know.
